I think I need to get a few rules laid down at this point. As I write my blog I will refer to my partner as Princess. I’m an angel of course. I will also refer to Princess as he and she. This can be confusing, I’ll try and explain. Generally, you should refer to a trans person with the pronoun that matches how they are presenting. If Princess is dressed as a woman, and/or I am telling a story about her, from a time she was dressed/presenting as a woman, or even if I am thinking of her as a woman, I will refer to her as she. Vice versa for he. It makes sense to me. It seems a little ridiculous to refer to someone wearing heels, make-up, wearing a dress and carrying a handbag as he or him, doesn’t it?
What’s in a name?
